and then did a fecal transplant on Porsche and sent her "before" in too??
I just got the results back!
and they are interesting as all get out!
Since this study was more of a survey, just to get a baseline for the variation in horses, and to link some health observations to gut micro biomes, I didn't get specific recommendations, just a comparison of each horse to the population average, and then of course I could compare to each other.
A bit of set up:
Tesla is an easy keeper, big eater, big drinker, big consistent pooper.
Porsche is more of the typical TB, tending towards bottomless pit, and *knock on wood* I've only had one colic scare when the BM let her eat plastic astro turf ..... O_o
At the time they were getting very similar diets and supplements.
Their microbiome profiles are totally different! (as I would've thought!) In fact, they are completely opposite to the average (i.e. if Porsche is higher than average, Tesla is lower)
