akin to colic

We lost our old Shepherd, Titan, today, to bloat, which I had never heard of, but is actually very akin to colic in horses, except the stomach twists, not the gut. By the time I realized something wasn’t ok with him, and rushed him to the vet, it was too late, and surgery prognosis was guarded at best, due to his health and age. He was super stoic, with a pain tolerance thru the roof, so I’m grateful we were able to help him over the rainbow bridge as peacefully and lovingly as possible, rubbing his ears and assuring him what a good boy he was.

He was an absolute character, with a heart of gold, and everyone he met absolutely adored him.
I’ve never had a vet cry in front of me before, but the emergency vet was in tears too.

❤️♥️💔 gonna miss you bunches, old man ❤️

  1. I am so sorry. Guinness’ one attack was super scary. Now I watch him like a hawk.
