Meanwhile....

Porsche is looking and feeling like a million bucks (the $$$$ kind not the bronco kind ;) Her feet are looking the best they have ever (I'll have to do a post update)

but our leaser was MIA about scheduling a test ride (whomp whomp).

It's hard not to take it personally - I love this little mare to bits: she is fun and uncomplicated and even if  she can be a bit sassy on the ground at times (she is a girl after all, and girls haz opinions lol) she always leaves any drama in the crossties and shows up 100% to work. I suspect that our location is the biggest objection, as the barn is usually windy & cold and up-the-hill-and-out-of-the-way, rather than anything about the Porsche herself: all her test rides have been good experiences for all involved.

Have you ever leased a horse as a rider or owner?
How did you find the perfect fit?

  1. Fetti was my lease horse. I tried to schedule, never heard back, and finally called. She hadn't gotten my emails but was there that afternoon. I hopped in the car, picked up my boyfriend, and headed over to promptly fall in love with a pony who was very much not what I was looking for originally. We're eight years in. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I've seen it from the other side too though. Lots of flakes. Folks who say they want one thing and then that scares them. Experienced riders who can't steer or stop the horse. It is hard and it's scared me off leasing out Fetti anytime soon.
