TLC: First things first

Do you know what this artfully taken photo doesn't show? A roof in sad need of repair. So many shingles had flown off that it was the recommendation of all the folks who gave me quotes to have it replaced (gulp! Pretty sure it was original from the 80s). Luckily, the plywood underneath was SOLID, so there wasn't any structural damage and it only needed shingles. There was a narrow window of decent weather, and since the girls were still boarded out, the decision was made to go for it!

It was legit 30C out. I brought donuts :)

The crew did a great job on the roof..........and a not so great amazing job at cleanup. The amount of career-ending stabby things I picked up around the barn was the stuff of nightmares.

Full paranoia set in, and I ran the magnet everywhere......at least 5x....as well as the gutters (pulled nails out of there too)

I started a collection in a paper grocery bag, granted some of this is bobby pins and various detritus, but, GULP!

  1. Yikes, and you just know a horse will find the one single nail left somewhere!

  2. Glad the roof job wasn't too huge, but sheesh, I can't believe they didn't run a magnet around! Glad you did! You KNOW the horses would find those nails. All of them. One at a time. Over all the years.
