Belly Rubs etc.

Porsche has had a rough few weeks, between the hoof abscess, a self-imposed hunger strike (she has now decided she is too good to eat any hay stems) and a mysterious cut on her face (possibly related to said hunger strike), she needed a bit of extra love:

LOVE is always being there for belly rubs
So she got a bit of pampering today: hand grazing on the fresh green grass that sprung up overnight, a rice bran scoop (to pack on some groceries!) a thorough currying (especially the side of her covered in mud LOL)  I took her up to the arena for a light ride - she was great even when other horses were spooking about a bird attacking the mirrors.

As we were walking back to the barn, she stopped, and I got the feeling she wanted to take a walk around the property, so we did and she was just thrilled, even happy snorting, to be on an adventure snooping on everyone and checking everything out. We finished up with some Masterson Method (which Porsche loves too!)

  1. Not eat hay stems? She knows she's a horse, right?

  2. How adorable! Amber loves her belly rubs, too. But doesn't quite stretch out like that! So cute <3

  3. Every once in a while I have a horse who decides they don't like the hay in one particular bale. So, I just swap it out with another horse and give them a new bale and BOOM-they eat. Kind of like a cat who always wants fresh food in the bowl...
