Tack Review: Classic Equine BioFit Correction Western Saddle Pad

Dad and I checked out all the tack this weekend to make sure everything fit, and took it on a test ride around the property.

First up on the list: Breastplates!

We hit up a local used tack shop and made out like bandits!! Tesla's chest measures the same as my outstretched arms (perfect for hugs? I think so) and I found a plain one that was juuuuusssst right ;)

I ordered one of these saddle pads from Riding Warehouse:

cause ya know, withers..

I was super impressed with the quality (this pad is going to last forever!). I liked the gel inserts (they were very squishy!) and and Tesla responded really well to it (just like the Diamond Wool Pad under the AP saddle) so I'm sure it "quiets" my seat to a whisper :) perfect for sensitive thoroughbreds, and when I pulled it off, the sweat marks were perfectly symmetrical (score!)

Tess was moving very well off my leg: we did lots of "drunken sailor" wandering. I kept it low key, but she seems to be feeling much better - no girthiness, so forward, happy ears, so fingers crossed she is on the mend :)

and this girl has really taken a shine to my Dad - <3! Belly-rubs for the WIN.

The tack is fitting well, comfortable for all parties, and can't wait to hit the real trails next weekend!

  2. Glad to hear she is feeling better! I have been tack shopping too! Trying to keep the saddle from slipping on my barrel of a pony :)
